What Is Microblading?

Microblading is a cosmetic tattooing technique that fills in sparse eyebrows. The technique uses a hand-held tool with needles to apply semi-permanent pigments that simulate hair-like strokes. The color fades over time, and yearly touch-ups are recommended to maintain optimal results. Ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their brows. The results are natural looking hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. The shape of the brow is calculated according to the Golden Ratio (phi 1.618) and face morphology; meaning no cookie cutter brows. The colour is determined according to the natural colour of the eyebrows and the clients hair colour and whether you’re looking for a very natural light finish, or a bigger bolder brow. Sparse or missing brows can be completely restored using this technique.

This procedure is considered semi-permanent and lasts 1-2 years (but pigment can remain in the skin for many years depending on the client), depending on the skin type, pigment retention and how well the tattooed area is cared for after (see our Aftercare section for more on this). Before booking your appointment.

How Long Does The Treatment Take?

Microblading, also known as Cosmetic ‘Tattooing’, is a 2 step process-- done usually 45-60 days apart (it is very important to complete 2 visits)and basic eyebrow fills, take 2-2.5 hours. Extremely difficult procedures will likely take more time and be broken up into several appointments (scar camouflage, correction etc.).

Please allow for at least 3 hours for you first appointment.

What's the process?

The Initial Treatment is broken up into a few parts. First, the brow area is sterilized and cleaned, then the brow is drawn onto your skin. This process is done simultaneously to achieve the shape, thickness and overall appearance you want. A photo is then taken to review and search for any discrepancies in the design. Once reviewed, high quality pigments are implanted beneath the surface of the skin in hair-like strokes using a sterile, disposable microblading tool and blade.

You will need to return for your Second Treatment (Touch-Up) no later than 45-90 days after your initial treatment.

It is important to understand that this is a two-part process and the second treatment will complete the procedure.

Within a week of your first treatment, the color will fade significantly and will continue to fade over the following 4 weeks. This period allows you time to reflect on your shape and colour. After this period, your follow-up appointment is carried out. At this point any changes you would like to make are discussed. Once again you can expect the color to fade, but to a much lesser degree.
